Our Mission

The Mission of the Sports Council of Collier County is to enhance the quality of life and the economy in Collier County by taking lead in promoting, acquiring, and supporting a diversity of youth and adult amateur athletic and sporting events.

The Sports Council of Collier County was created in 2006 and continues to grow with great sporting events and tournaments every year.

The Sports Council of Collier County is a partnership between dedicated hoteliers, corporate partners, the Collier County Parks & Recreations Department, and the Convention & Visitors Bureau which understand and support sports organizations bringing tournaments and trainings to the unique and beautiful destination of Naples, Marco Island & the Everglades.

Nicole, a Wisconsin native that moved to Naples in January 2008 to pursue an internship with the Sports Council of Collier County during her last semester of college has been involved in sports her entire life. Nicole grew up playing soccer competitively and continued her soccer career throughout college. Already realizing her affection for sports and the positive skills it can bring to someone's life—when her internship concluded she had fallen in love with the destination and chose not to return to Wisconsin. “I enjoyed the beautiful weather and had met so many people I could not imagine moving back to Wisconsin for another winter. I decided to look for work in Naples in hopes I could find something career worthy."

Although she did not immediately start working for the Sports Council of Collier County after her internship, she stayed in close touch with Ralph Pryor, the Sports Marketing Coordinator. Nicole moved on and started working for an events entertainment company, in the fitness field, and doing marketing for Naples Harley-Davidson.

"Eventually when it was time to start job searching again, I wanted to do something I loved and be surrounded by others that I enjoyed working with. I immediately called Ralph and jumped on board the Sports Council without hesitation."

Nicole has now been with the Sports Council since August 2009 and is glad she can put her college degree in Sports Management and Business to use. She hopes to continue to stay involved in the sports/fitness and events field as that is her true passion. Currently with the Sports Council Nicole works within event planning, Sports Council hotel/corporate membership services, housing, and acquiring and promoting additional sports events to come to Collier County.

Outside of work Nicole enjoys CrossFitting, training her dog in agility, and spending time outdoors. "The Sports Council has allowed me to stay actively involved in sports in the community and work with other dedicated partners who also see the benefit of sports travel in our community. I hope during my time with the Sports Council we see an event come through with major economic impact, especially during the summer months."
