EVP Tour

The gulf coast of Texas was upon us and the EVP Tour kicked off it's 2012 season brought to you by Sparkling ICE and the Galveston Tourism.  Teams came from across the US to compete in the opener in our Pro division.  The action from the Men and Women in early season kept the fans on the edge of their seats.  Between the beautiful weather and the Galveston hospitality the EVP  23rd season opener was a huge success!!

Net play in the Women division soon became evident that it was it going to be between  Wallen/Harris or Dufner/Vias.  This year is going to make some great matches between these two teams.  The back and forth action and the hard hits from these girls you can tell they have competed years against each other and make for some entertaining action. In the Semi Finals the local Houston  team gave Duffner-Hand/Virsilaite some close matches but the experience in 'Beach Weather' was evident with the skills Duffner-Hand/Visilaite performed to move to the finals.  The early action was back and forth and each match was close.  Only a few  points in each match determined our champions from 2011 Wallen/Harris to prevailed to be the Queen of the NETS and won the first event for the Lone Star Spike winner.  This season not only do you win your $ you also win our coveted EVP King Hawaiian Ceremony Leis!! Are you going to win your Lei?  It is for both the Pro and AAA Divisions!!

The Men's division was a little more tight and the back and forth action between the top four teams had us waiting to see who would prevail to be the' King of the net"  Will and Andy seemed to rise to the occasion by keeping their head in the game and many great plays.  They became unstoppable and they reigned as our KINGS!!  Match was tight but Masuad/Lorenz were in it for awhile but the elements of BEACH play made the more experience team to prevail.

"This event brings the reason  why I started the EVP and what it is all about...the action and players.  We are looking forward to all of our stops this year and are excited about our 23rd season!" commented Ross Balling.  "We have great players and we want to invite out all levels of play to come out and grow their skills and earn great prizes and fun to compete in our National tour, it will get you a great time at the beach and make every level feel like our PROS!!"
